In 1957, two brothers, Fritz and Hans Schlumpf buy a factory in Mulhouse. Four years later, Fritz started to buy vintage cars and park them in warehouses of the factory. The access is limited to a few people only, but the existence of this collection of almost 400 cars became public in 1965. The year after, workings began to open the Schlumpf Museum. Today, the museum is called the National Automobile Museum, Collection Schlumpf, and is the biggest automobile museum in the world.
