This extensive private collection of over 250 trucks and cars, 150 petrol pumps and a vast array of memorabilia is reputedly the largest private collection of its type in the world. Bill Richardson, a New Zealand transport industry mogul, started his collection in 1967. Unfortunately Bill died suddenly in 2005 and since this time the collection has grown significantly with the shared avid interest in 'collecting' by Bill's daughter Joc (Jocelyn). The private museum now scopes a vast 15,000sqm footprint and incorporates a café, shop, conference and events centre, wearable arts display and kids learning space. Many interactive displays have been added to the various exhibits. A not to be missed, world class attraction for the whole family!
